History: Established in 2003, the Camp Hands Up is the oldest continuously camp in the northwest. The camp opened in 2003 and held in Dayton, Washington, the first camp director was Sheila Cole. She charged the camp in 2003 to 2013. In 2014 & 2015, (second) as camp director was Elly R. No camp in 2016 & 2017. The camp restored in the summer 2018. Now, a new camp director is (third) Ivan Alfaro, the first deaf male as the camp director in the history. The Camp Hands Up is the leadership, friendship, fellowship, relationship, educational, teamwork with the deaf, hard of hearing, CODA community in the Northwest.
Features: A 4 day residence camp for boys and girls ages 6 through High School at Packwood Station, Packwood, Washington.

§ The camp features a volleyball tournament, swimming, dances, movies, hiking and more.
§ Make new friends and meet other community from around the Northwest.
§ Registration fee includes instructions, meals, lodging, official camp T-shirt, instructional notebook, and a photo CD of camp activities.
§ Meals are prepared at the Packwood Station.

The amount may be paid in full or a $TBA deposit will hold your place in camp with balance due before June 1st.
2019 Registration Online
§ Confirmation packets will be emailed prior to camp. They will be included a packing list, directions, medical information form and schedule.
§ If registering with teammate or friends, be sure to request the same camp dates.
§ Registrations are non-transferable to other individuals.
§ There will be a $10.00 fee charged for processing a cancellation prior to May 16. There will be no refunds after May 16.
Camp Director: Ivan Alfaro
A Hispanic (Mexican American), Ivan is a runner, a paraeducator/behavior specialist at Davis High School, cross country and track assistant coach for Eisenhower High School in Yakima. I work for the Clear Lake/White Pass Cross Country Camp with the camp director Phil English and I am the camp staff for 7 years at White Pass in every year. I was 1st ranked in the 3200 meters for National Deaf Prep and now 3rd ranked (3200m) in the national deaf prep. I competed in the 5k, 8k, half marathon and a marathon. I am the liaison/secretary for the Yakima Valley Association of the Deaf (YVAD) since 2012 to present and some work with Tilikum in Vancouver, Washington. I attended to Yakima Valley College in Yakima, Washington and Gallaudet University in Washington DC.
